Day 14
Today started slightly oddly as Kieren and Hattie came to our room at 8 (normal) but kieren was wearing his bag (not normal)
We asked what was inside that he needed for Disney Sea and when we opened the bag he’d taken 3 of his toy friends and an iPad!!!
We couldn’t work out why he’d done it but managed to convince him to leave them all behind
After breakfast it was 2 trains and a 20 minute walk to Disney Sea - the final thing I’d organised, the tickets, worked so I can at last sleep easy
The place was massive so we started the long walk round, calling in to gift shops as we went
Kieren did manage to find one toy he liked but for the life of me I couldn’t say what it was
Then when we had walked about as far as we could in yet another hot day, we took a boat ride back to the Mediterranean quayside
I think a combination of a hot day and the nth day in a row of 15k+ steps means that now were all exhausted so we stopped for something to eat and 2 beers / cokes each
Then we went back to Shibuya for some music shopping for Hattie and we stumbled across another Disney Store so kieren bought himself a Hercules
At that point even Kieren said he felt tired and wanted to go back to the hotel - but not before we’d gone to the Lawson convenience store and bought him 2 cokes and some Pringles 🙄
After a rest for an hour or so Joss and I went to the hub British pub - a theme that was set for us in Osaka
We met an older English couple - yes there are people older than us - who’d just arrived from Cheltenham - they were exhausted but wanted to make the most of Tokyo as they were only there for 3 days before going off for a cruise
After drinks we picked the kids up and went for a meal at the “soup and noodles” place Joss and Hattie had visited before where you had to put your order in via an ordering tablet/machine
I had the roast pork and noodles that came with rice and fried chicken and I added more pork and a boiled egg to mine
It was bloody delicious
Admittedly the pictures don’t do it justice but I had started eating before I remembered to take a picture
Kieren had rice and fried chicken with a coke which he absolutely loved - he’s practically Japanese now!!!!
The meal of course came with beer and afterwards we decided to call it a night - all of us were knackered
This has been an amazing holiday but so, so tiring. Even Kieren almost fell asleep on a train today
1 day to go - we are going to make it a good ‘un
😊
